어떤 일이 사실이 아니거나 일어나지 않을 것 같다는 생각을 조심스럽게 동의하며 말할 때 쓴다. 주로 대화에서 사용되고 조금은 아리송한 느낌이 있다.

친구나 가까운 사이의 대화에서 쓰며, 확실하게 부정하지 않고 약간 망설이는 뉘앙스가 있다. '확실히 아니야'보단 덜 단호함.

"Are you coming to the party tonight?" "I suppose not."

오늘 파티에 올 거야? **아마 아닐 거야**.

He asked if it's going to rain, and I said, "I suppose not."
