يستخدم غالباً في سياقات رسمية ومع أفعال مثل 'behave', 'act', 'serve', 'fight'. الإملاء الأمريكي هو 'honorably'. لا تخلط بينها وبين 'honestly' التي تعني 'بصدق' ولا تشير بالضرورة إلى الشرف الأخلاقي.
