"hic" का प्रयोग मुख्यतः लिखित रूप में, खासकर कॉमिक्स या हंसी-मज़ाक में, हिचकी की आवाज़ दर्शाने के लिए होता है। आम बोलचाल में नहीं बोला जाता।
