Definition

布の端を折り返して縫い、ほつれを防ぐ作業。主にパンツやスカートの裾などに行う。

主に裁縫や洋服の仕立てで使われる表現。例えば「裾上げパンツ」や「裾上げドレス」など。'hemming and hawing'とは意味が異なるため注意。
