らせんは、滑らかな曲線が中心線のまわりに回転しながら伸びる形です。バネやDNA、螺旋階段などで見られます。

専門用語（科学や数学分野）では「ヘリックス」を使いますが、日常会話では「らせん」と言うことが多いです。例: 'DNAの二重らせん'。
