倍音とは、主音や基本周波数と共に発生し、音をより豊かで複雑にする追加の音や振動です。音楽や音響、電気工学などで重要です。

「倍音」は主に技術的・音楽的・科学的な文脈で使われます。音楽では音色を豊かにする上位倍音、理科や工学では望ましくない周波数成分も指します。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
