Definition
「hand waving」は、知識の不足や真実の答えを隠すために、あいまいで不十分な説明をすることです。ときどき、論理や詳しい説明の代わりにジェスチャーを使うことも指します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に学術的な議論や技術的な場面で、説明の不十分さやごまかしを指摘するために使います。文字通り手を振る意味ではありません。
