人々やグループが銃を使って戦う激しい戦いのこと。映画や物語、時には現実の衝突で見られます。

主に西部劇やアクション映画、暴力事件のニュースでよく使われます。'激しい銃撃戦'や'銃撃戦が発生した'という表現に頻出します。警察や軍などの公式な作戦には使いません。
