군대나 교도소에서 경비원이나 군인이 근무하거나 쉬는 방이며, 가벼운 규율 위반 시 군인을 잠시 가두는 용도로도 쓰입니다.

'경비실' 또는 '위병실'은 군대나 교도소에서만 주로 사용되며, 가볍게 처벌받는 경우 사용할 수도 있습니다. 일상적인 용도로 거의 쓰이지 않습니다.
