誰かに丁寧または親しみを込めて「こんにちは」や「ようこそ」と言うこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「greets」は三人称単数現在形でややフォーマルな響きがあります。「皆に挨拶する」など目的語と一緒に使うことが多いです。砕けた場面では「手を振る」や「声をかける」などがよく使われます。「会う」や「歓迎する」とは区別してください。
