Digunakan untuk menggambarkan sesuatu yang tiba-tiba sangat naik atau seseorang yang tiba-tiba sangat marah. Biasanya digunakan untuk harga atau emosi.

Ungkapan informal dan kiasan. 'prices went through the roof' berarti harga melonjak, sedangkan 'he went through the roof' berarti dia sangat marah. Tidak digunakan secara harfiah.
