指一点一点地收集，尤其是信息或知识。最初也指收集收获后田里的余粮。

常与“信息”、“知识”等搭配，语气比‘得到’、‘找到’更正式或书面，强调一点点收集的过程。现代较少用于字面意义，主要指信息的收集。
