誰かを傷つけたり、からかったりするために使われる嘲笑や皮肉を込めた言葉。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
通常は複数形で使われ、やや文学的・フォーマルな印象。日常会話ではあまり使わず、「taunts」や「jibes」と似ている。'gibes at someone' のように使われることが多い。
