堡壘是帶有高牆的堅固建築或區域，用來防禦攻擊或保護裡面的人。常見於歷史，由士兵使用。

“forts”是“fort”的複數，主要用於軍事、歷史場合或孩子玩“枕頭堡壘”。現代軍事基地不會用這個詞。
