잠깐 동안 가볍게 눈이 내리는 현상을 말하며, 주로 일기예보에서 사용됩니다. 간혹 갑작스럽게 바쁜 상황을 가리킬 때도 쓰지만, 대부분 눈을 말할 때 씁니다.

주로 뉴스나 일기예보에서 복수형으로 사용하며, 강설 아닌 가벼운 눈에만 씁니다. '블리자드'(폭설)와 혼동하지 마세요.
