Flinching é o ato de mover rapidamente o corpo para trás ou fazer um movimento rápido por estar surpreendido, assustado ou com dor.

Muitas vezes usado em expressões como 'without flinching' (sem vacilar) para mostrar coragem. Expressa uma reação visível, involuntária. Não confundir com 'wincing' (expressão facial de dor).
