“Flanks” 指的是某物的侧面，特别是人或动物身体的两侧，也可指军队或团队的两翼，还可以泛指任何事物的两边。

常用于解剖（如“动物的flanks”），军事（如“从flanks进攻”），也可指任何物体的两侧。多用复数。注意不要和“flank steak”（特定牛排部位）或“plank”（木板）混淆。适用正式和非正式场合。
