Definition
Falhar subitamente e de forma marcante depois de sucesso inicial; também se refere a quando um motor deixa de funcionar abruptamente, especialmente em aviões.

Informal, frequente em desporto, negócios ou falhanços pessoais. Pode ser literal para motores (aviões), mas é normalmente metafórico para falhanço repentino após um começo promissor. 'Flameout' é o substantivo. Não é usado para fracasso gradual.
