Definition

何かに注意を向ける、または他の選択肢を考えた後で最終的に決めること。

『fix on』はややフォーマル・文学的な表現。決定時（'fix on a date'）や集中（'fix on an object'）で使う。'fix'（修理する）とは別。'fix one's eyes/gaze on' の形も多い。

She fixed on the blue dress for the party.

彼女はパーティーに青いドレスを**選んだ**。
