Definition

কিছু বস্তু বা তথ্য ধীরে ধীরে অন্য কিছুর ভেতর দিয়ে পার হওয়া বা ছড়িয়ে পড়া বোঝায়। মাটি দিয়ে পানি যাওয়া বা কোনো খবর আস্তে আস্তে ছড়িয়ে পড়ার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার হয়।

প্রায়ই গল্প বা কথোপকথনে ব্যবহার হয়, যেমন 'আলো ফিল্টার হয়ে পড়ে', বা 'খবর ফিল্টার হয়ে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে'। 'filter out' ভিন্ন অর্থ দেয়।
