Definition
Fazer com que algo fique cheio ao pôr alguma coisa dentro. Também pode significar completar espaços em branco, como num formulário, ou ocupar todo o espaço ou tempo disponível.

Padrões comuns: 'fill a cup with water', 'fill in/out a form' e 'fill up the tank'. 'Fill' é mais geral; 'fill in' costuma usar-se para completar informação em falta, e 'fill out' é muito comum com formulários.
