'fides' বর্তমান বাংলায় ব্যবহৃত হয় না; সাধারণত সাহিত্য, ইতিহাস বা ধর্মীয় প্রসঙ্গে দেখা যায়। দিনে-দিনে কথায় 'বিশ্বাস' বা 'আস্থা' ব্যবহার হয়।
