植物や動物から取れる細い糸状のもの。また、消化はされないが腸の動きを助ける食物成分。

イギリス英語の綴り。アメリカ英語は“fiber”。“dietary fibre”、“high in fibre”などの表現で使われる。繊維質は食品、または素材として使うが、「ファイバーオプティクス」や「布地」とは異なる。
