“Faint”可以形容某种声音、气味或痕迹很微弱、很淡、很难察觉。它也可以表示短暂失去知觉。

作形容词时，常和 'sound', 'smell', 'hope', 'line', 'heartbeat' 搭配。作动词时，常见结构是 'faint from/after' 某事；日常口语里也常说 'pass out'。不要和 'feint' 混淆，后者指假动作。
