Definition

파사드는 건물의 전면이나 가장 눈에 띄는 부분을 의미하며, 진짜 감정이나 상황을 숨기는 겉모습이나 가식도 뜻합니다.

건축에서는 중립적 의미이고, 사람의 태도에 쓰면 감정을 숨기는 가식이나 위선을 뜻합니다. 'put on a facade'는 '겉치레하다' 또는 '포장하다' 의미로 쓰입니다.

The old city is famous for its colorful facades.
