キリスト教を広めるために説教などを行う人。また、特定の考えや活動を熱心に広める人にも使われることがある言葉です。

宗教的な文脈でよく使われますが、「テックエバンジェリスト」など、ある考えや製品を熱心に広める人にも使われます。「説教者」とは異なります。
