Definition

누군가나 기관에 돈, 재산, 특별한 능력 등 귀중한 것을 주는 것. 기부나 타고난 재능을 말할 때 자주 사용된다.

'Endow'는 공식적, 제도적 상황에서 많이 사용된다('장학금을 기부하다' 등). 'Endowed with'는 타고난 재능을 의미. 'Endowment'(기부금)와 혼동하지 않기.

She decided to endow the hospital with new equipment.
