Definition

何かや誰かに思いがけず出会ったり、問題や困難に直面したりすること。

人に使うとやや改まった表現で、状況や問題、困難によく使われる（例：『問題に直面する』）。カジュアルな会合や予定された出会いには使わない。

We are encountering a few problems with the project.

私たちはプロジェクトでいくつかの問題に**直面しています**。
