숯불불씨

Definition

불이 거의 꺼진 뒤에도 남아있는 작게 불이 붙어있는 나무나 석탄 조각으로, 열을 내고 다시 불이 붙을 수 있다.

주로 복수로 사용된다. 실제 불이나 잔불 외에도 감정, 상황 등이 남아 있는 상태를 비유적으로 표현할 때 쓸 수 있다. 밝은 불꽃에는 사용하지 않는다.

The embers glowed softly in the fireplace.

벽난로에서 **불씨**가 부드럽게 빛나고 있었다.
