Bir şeyi yavaş yavaş yiyerek, kemirerek ya da kimyasal bir süreçle tamamen delip geçmek.
Usage Notes (Turkish)
Genelde pas, asit, böcek veya kemirgenlerin bir malzemeyi yavaşça aşındırdığı durumlarda kullanılır; insanın yemek yemesi için değil. Yaygın ifadeler: 'acid eats through metal', 'mice eat through wires'. Yavaş ve tamamen aşındırma anlamı taşır.
