'duchesse' genellikle günlük İngilizcede kullanılmaz; tarihî anlatımlarda veya Fransız zarafetinin öne çıkarıldığı durumlarda geçer. Standart İngilizcesi 'duchess'tir. Aynı zamanda antika mobilya türünü de ifade edebilir.
