약하거나 지지대가 없어 아래로 축 처지거나 늘어진 상태를 말합니다. 주로 식물, 신체 일부, 물체 등이 제대로 서 있지 않을 때 사용합니다.

원래 서 있어야 하는 것(꽃, 잎, 눈꺼풀 등)에 자주 쓰이며, 피로하거나 시들고 무기력한 느낌을 줍니다. 'drooping shoulders', 'drooping eyelids'처럼 자주 쓰입니다.
