誰かにたっぷり愛情を注ぎ、時に甘やかしてしまうほど可愛がること。祖父母やペットの飼い主がよく使う表現。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
'dote'は「on/upon」と一緒に使われることが多く（例：“dote on her grandchildren”）、やや格式ばった表現です。主に年長者から年少者への愛情に使われます。日常会話ではあまり使いません。
