對某人表現出極多的愛和關心，往往會寵壞對方。

常與“on/upon”連用（如 'dote on'）。較正式或文學用語，通常形容年長者對年幼者的寵愛，如祖父母對孫子女，或主人對寵物。日常對話中不常用。
