Definition

किसी चीज़ को भागों या समूहों में बांटना, या लोगों में बाँटना। गणित में भी इस्तेमाल होता है जब एक संख्या दूसरी से विभाजित होती है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अक्सर वस्तुओं, समूहों और संख्याओं के लिए: 'divide the cake', 'divide 12 by 3'। अनौपचारिक भाषा में 'split' भी इस्तेमाल होता है। कई बार असहमति या भेद पैदा करने के लिए भी 'divide' कहते हैं: 'This issue divides people.'
