Definition

কাউকে বা কিছুকে তাদের স্বাভাবিক স্থান থেকে জোরপূর্বক সরিয়ে দেওয়া, অথবা কিছু অন্য কিছুর স্থলাভিষিক্ত হওয়া।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

সাধারণত আনুষ্ঠানিক বা কারিগরি অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'যুদ্ধ' বা 'দুর্যোগ'-এ স্থানচ্যুত মানুষ ('displaced persons') ও প্রযুক্তি পরিবর্তনে ('displace older technology') শব্দটি কমন। 'replace' মানে কেবল পরিবর্তন, 'displace' হলে জোরপূর্বক স্থানচ্যুতি বোঝায়।
