말, 글, 생각 등이 체계적으로 연결되지 않고 일관성이 없을 때 사용한다. 흐름이 어색하거나 앞뒤가 잘 맞지 않을 때 쓴다.

주로 글, 말, 논리 등에 부정적으로 사용된다. 'speech', 'story', 'thoughts', 'conversation' 등과 함께 많이 쓰인다. 사물에는 사용하지 않는다.
