「うつ病」は強い悲しみや気力の低下が続く状態を指します。また、「窪地」は周囲より低い地形やへこみを意味します。

精神的な場合も地形の場合も複数を表す時に使います。「depression」は単数形です。'multiple depressions' は「複数のうつ状態/窪み」と訳します。
