কর্মক্ষেত্রে কারো অবস্থান বা দায়িত্ব কমিয়ে দেওয়া, সাধারণত শাস্তি হিসেবে বা দুর্বল কাজের কারণে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Demotion' মূলত অফিস, প্রতিষ্ঠান বা মিলিটারি পরিবেশে ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারণভাবে 'get a demotion', 'risk of demotion' ইত্যাদি বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত। 'resignation' বা 'layoff' এর সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
