Definition

কিছু জিনিসকে অত্যন্ত ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত, ধ্বংস বা অনেক কমিয়ে দেওয়া। সাধারণত সম্পূর্ণ বা অধিকাংশ ধ্বংস বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

বেশিরভাগ সময় আনুষ্ঠানিক বা বর্ণনামূলক লেখায় ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'populations', 'industries', 'forests' ইত্যাদির ক্ষেত্রে এই শব্দটি বেশি দেখা যায়, যেমন 'The forest was decimated by fire'।
