この言葉は誰かができる限り努力することや、非常に変わっている・驚くべきものを表します。

とてもカジュアルでややきつい表現。'do your damndest' は「全力を尽くす」、'the damndest thing' は「とても不思議なこと」として使われます。フォーマルな場には不向きです。
