Uma represa ou barragem é uma estrutura construída em um rio ou córrego para reter a água, normalmente para criar um reservatório, controlar enchentes ou gerar eletricidade.

'Dam' refere-se geralmente a grandes barreiras de água construídas pelo homem. Usar com 'hydroelectric dam'. Não confundir com 'damn' (palavrão em inglês).
