恋愛関係や結婚に向けて、誰かが好意を示したり気を引くための期間や行動のこと。動物の求愛行動を指すこともある。

「Courtships」は日常会話ではほとんど使われず、「デート」が一般的。文学や歴史、生物学の場面で見かけます。複数の独立した恋愛のアプローチや求愛行動を指すことが多い。
