يستخدم "corrective" غالبًا في سياقات رسمية، خاصة عند الحديث عن إجراءات، تدابير أو معدات تهدف إلى تصحيح خطأ أو حالة (مثل "corrective action"، "corrective lenses"). يُستعمل غالبًا كصفة وليس كاسم. لا تخلطه مع "correction" (التعديل نفسه) أو "correct" (يصحح).
