Definition

本当ではない話や言い訳、計画などを作り上げること。多くは隠れて作ったり、嘘の内容である場合に使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

くだけた場面や否定的な意味で使用されることが多いです。「言い訳をでっちあげる」「話をこしらえる」など口語によく使います。料理する意味ではありません。
