特定の治療や薬、処置を行う際に、それが安全でない、または推奨されないとされる条件や要因のこと。

医学や薬の分野で使われる専門用語で、通常は複数形で使います。「～に対する禁忌」という形で薬や治療と一緒に用いられます。副作用（side effects）とは意味が異なります。
