"continuances" in Japanese

法律用語で、裁判の開始や手続きを延期すること。また、物事が続いている状態を指す場合もある。

主に法廷や法律の文脈で使われ、「延期」の意味が強い。「continuation」（継続）とは異なり、裁判などの延期を示す。日常会話では単数形が一般的。
