جعل شيء ما أصغر عن طريق الضغط أو العصر، أو تقليل الحجم، خاصةً بإزالة الهواء أو تقليل حجم ملفات البيانات.

Usage Notes (Arabic)

تُستخدم في السياقات التقنية ('compressing files') والفيزيائية ('compressing clothes in a suitcase'). غالبًا في المبني للمجهول: 'is being compressed'. لا تخلط بينها وبين 'decompress' (فك الضغط).
