いくつかの情報やデータを集めること、またはプログラムのソースコードをコンピューターが実行できる形式に変換する作業。

技術的や学術的な場面でよく使われます。プログラミングでは、ソースコードを実行可能ファイルに変換するという意味です。通常はデータや情報を集める時にも使います。"completing"や"editing"とは区別してください。
