多くの人が住み、働く、大きな建物や施設が集まった人口の多い場所。

「都市」は「町」より規模が大きく、建物や人口が多い地域。「city center」＝「中心部」、「city life」＝「都会の生活」などの表現で使われることが多いです。行政機関を指す場合もあります。
